Cleaning fee

Cleaning fee · definition
  • The cleaning fee is a per-stay amount the guest pays on top of the nightly rate, intended to cover the turnover clean — passed through to the cleaner, not host profit.
  • Category: Money

Getting the level right

It should track your actual cleaner invoice. Inflated fees punish short stays (a €90 fee doubles a one-night total) and platforms now surface total price — oversized fees lose bookings they used to hide.

Fee vs baked-in

Some hosts fold cleaning into the nightly rate for short-stay markets. Arithmetic differs per stay length: separate fees favour long stays, baked-in favours short ones.
